I can’t imagine what Adam was really thinking when he awoke from his divine deep sleep and first laid eyes on the “woman”. Scripture tells us in Genesis 2:23 that Adams first response was, “At last, bone of my bone and flesh of my flesh..” Adam realized immediately that the beauty being presented to him was the only other creature comparable to him, yet, she was distinctly, amazingly different.
In my own wifeness I can’t help but to imagine the look on Adam’s face. Adam standing next to God – unable to move; motionless, speechless, numb and maybe gawking – while being introduced to the love of his life.
Eve, in all her awesomeness was specifically designed by God to complete what was needing in Adam.
Oh’, but wait…. Let us not misunderstand. Adam was totally, completely, all man without Eve. He was made in the image of God and was given life by God’s breath. Adam had dominion over all the earth, a God created leader, a worker and one walking with God; before Eve ever entered his life. Yet, if nothing was needing, God would never have created a “helper” suitable for him’. .
For man is not from woman, but woman from man. Nor was man created for the woman, but woman for the man.<1Corinthians 11:8>
Wife, the Husband Helper …. Godly intent, divine purpose, and marvelous design
Oh’….magnify the LORD, And exalt His name together. <Psalm 34:3>
